The Texan Burger Raises $ for Hurricane Harvey Relief Effort
Burger Project has introduced a new Limited Edition Burger to its menu, The Texan, which will help raise money for the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
The Texan is the first of a series of Limited Edition burgers that will change every six weeks. Until Sunday, 15 October, $1 from every The Texan burger sold will be donated to a Hurricane Harvey relief program via The Rockpool Foundation, to provide assistance to those in need.
The Texan features Burger Project’s signature, pure, Cape Grim beef pattie, as well as cheese, pickles, onions, mustard and a smoky Tabasco chilli BBQ sauce.
Each new Limited Edition Burger will be revealed every six weeks via Burger Project’s Instagram page @burgerproject.
The Limited Edition Burgers are available at all Burger Projects across the country and can be pre-ordered on the Burger Project app and via Deliveroo.
The Texan was inspired by Rockpool Dining Group Chief Executive Officer Thomas Pash, a burger-loving Texan, and was already in development when Hurricane Harvey hit.
“We knew immediately that we needed to step up, be supportive and do something important to help people in plight,” said Rockpool Dining Group Culinary Director Neil Perry AM.
“It’s a crisis that’s very close to the heart of the business and we’re honoured to give $1 from every The Texan to help Tom’s fellow Texans and those affected by the crisis.”
Mr Pash said giving back to the community was a strong part of Rockpool Dining Group’s DNA and after creating The Texan, then hearing about the devastation of Hurricane Harvey it seemed like a natural charitable fit for the Group.
“We feel it’s important to support where we can and positively impact the lives of the people who have been affected by this disaster,” Mr Pash said.
“It feels good to launch our first Limited Edition Burger hand-in-hand with a charitable drive and it’s motivating for our teams to know they are doing something for people in need.”
